An Opportunity to Invest in a US Fleet Charging Solutions Startup
We have recently added WattEV to our EXCELerate portfolio of qualified startups. WattEV is a US provider of electric plug-in stations for the trucking industry.
WattEV develops charging systems for heavy duty & medium duty trucks. The company is also involved in managing electric transport truck fleets in partnership with OEMs.

WattEV has ordered 50 Class 8 Volvo VNR Electric trucks to launch its unique Truck-as-a-Service (TaaS) model in California. To support its TaaS model, WattEV is building a public network of heavy-duty battery-electric truck charging depots to service major transportation corridors, connecting shipping ports with freight distribution centers and warehouse locations. Please see the following announcement on the collaboration with Volvo:
WattEV is now negotiating with the US Department of Energy to support an infrastructure plan and is seeking to raise for their Series A round in 2022. The company plans to use the funds for technology development, infrastructure investment and market expansion. They would also welcome commercial partnerships for deployment of their solution.
Here is a video introducing their facility in Bakersfield, CA: https://youtu.be/W3dgq1YgUm4
If you are interested to learn more about this opportunity, we would be happy to organize an introductory call with WattEV. My assistant Emma Ren can help to coordinate.
I’m looking forward to your feedback.
